Buying a house was a process that turned out to be a lot easier than I thought it would be, especially with Kelly and Cliff. I wasn’t only selling my home: I was also purchasing a new house that I had to firm up on because there was a competing offer. I knew that my home would sell because of the maximum exposure it was getting from the extensive advertising that Cliff and Kelly do in Cambridge, Kitchener, and Waterloo. I was completely confident that my home would sell because I was also working with such a powerful team. However; after taking the steps and trying the “for sale by owner” process for a few days, we realized just how much work and money was involved in advertising, taking invasive phone calls, and showing our house to complete strangers.  It can be very difficult to keep it professional.  My husband and I have two kids and full time careers, which made the process even more stressful.  We simply didn’t have time to do all that is necessary to sell our home.  Time was also not on our side.  We had chosen a home to purchase and were already emotionally attached to it. 

When we weighed the pros and cons, it made sense to call a broker and at least find out what they had to offer.  We decided to give it a try. We started with an agent that didn’t seem to have time for us, and didn’t give us that “warm and fuzzy” feeling you are looking for in any type of service.  Then we called “The Property Team”, Cliff Rego and Kelly Da Costa from Remax Twin City Realty Inc. Brokerage.  Now we know that we made the right choice, and at the right time.  We worked personally with Cliff Rego.  He and his team did an outstanding job on more than one level!

First and foremost, it was my observations with Cliff’s initial visit that made me realize just how hard they work for you.  They never stop!  Cliff provided us with a portfolio of homes that had recently sold in our neighborhood and in the neighborhood that we wanted to move into.  It was very helpful for us to see what our house was really worth, and also to see that we may have been taken advantage of if we had purchased the home we were looking at.  He provided suggestions that would make our home sell faster, and as a broker, Cliff had access to information and listings that we wouldn’t have otherwise known about and that enabled us to choose and purchase a home in our desired neighborhood that fit our family’s needs, at a reasonable price.  He, along with his team, treated us with respect and worked with conviction to sell our home.   Cliff’s team in client services was a big part of the process.  Everyone from the lady who came by to take some photos of our home who welcomed us to participate in the process, to the friendly staff who would call and give us lots of notice  to set up appointments for families to view our home, and the nice lady who gave my son some snacks to keep him busy while we signed all the paperwork!  We were kept in the loop on what was happening at all times, and didn’t have to be part of the process, which made it much easier.

Because of the prompt work put into both the sale of our home, and the purchase of our new home, we didn’t miss out on the opportunity of living in our dream home.  All of the fine details were taken care of as well.  He didn’t miss a beat when strongly suggesting we have a home inspection done, he was able to put us in touch with the contacts we would need for all of our financial, legal and inspection needs.  Our minds were at ease and we were able to enjoy the excitement of moving, instead of having to focus on the work.  We feel that every penny was earned.
